2k11 Journey

I can't believe 2k11 is already over. I remember when it just began. AH. I feel like this year I haven't been able to draw much because of animation work, and just misc. sketches here and there. ; 3;.

JAN: I was finishing up concept art and refining pre-production with my Puddle film with little raincoat girl. This ate up the remainder of my 2nd year. SCREAM. Love hate relationship haha. I know I was still interning at titmouse at this point.

FEB: I think I started animation at this point, and cleaning up. oh god. this film...(still interning)

MARCH: Aside from all the dying from film and school, I was doing a few commissions here and here (still interning...)

APRIL: This is where it all ended...but not haha. My final attempts to wrap up film during finals. One of the most intense years, trying to pump out this film. ; 3; I got close....OTL (still interning... ; 3; )

MAY: When I was finishing up school, I didn't really do much. I was so exhausted from finals, I barely drew anything worth while aside from sketches here and there. (still interning ahhh)

JUNE: I think I left titmouse for a little bit before I got hired again later this month for a sesame street show. This was my first job in the field so it was both terrifying and fun! I started prepping prints for conventions and such, so drew a lot of fanart. Started picking up drawing a lot more.

JULY: I would say that this was probably my prime time of 2K11. I think I finished the sesame street show, and at that time I wasn't allowed to work on this new disney show so I had left titmouse. I was on a drawing craze tho. Pumping out a lot of illustrations combining digital inks and traditional colors. I had so much fun just getting back into markers again. PRIME TIME!

AUG: For some reason, I guess I got pooped from the previous month, because a lot of my drawings became just rough sketches here and there. Towards the end of this month, I thought of the concept for BUTTON film with the little scarecrow. I was working on boards and refining story ideas around this time before school started.

SEPT: School started, and I was still just drawing misc sketches here and there. My sketchbook was crazy packed with god knows what now haha. I loved just traveling around and sketching rather than refining them into anything bigger. I didn't really work on film because I'm a bad student. c:

- Right after the first day of school, I got called into Titmouse to work there fulltime on that disney show. This murdered me til the end of oct. I was working fulltime freelancing in the studios for them, as well as full time student at sva. Definition of death. I didn't do shit in school, yet barely try to survive... OTL

OCT: I still didn't really work on film because of getting occupied by titmouse and trying not to die in layout. The only illustrations I was really pumping out was ones from my concept/BGD class (aka, do nothing but draw shit).

-Titmouse literally became too much too handle to the point where I got cut off from really tight deadlines. Apparently I might go back when school ends tho ; 3;. -sigh- Both good and bad news.

NOV: I regret not working on film so much now. I was rushing to get things done. Still changing ideas for 2 months, to in the end just go back to square one. I was just rushing animation and backgrounds as much as I can. Oh dear lord OTL.

DEC: I barely managed to finish all the rough animation for film, and I devoted majority of my time into layout. This is another piece from concept class that I did in 10 minutes. Finals killed me, but at the same time I think I did well at the end of the semester c:

Looking back at all 2K11 works I feel like i improved somewhat...haha. Majority of my color palettes are warm toned. I should try experimenting and playing around with more cool tones. Because of layout, I've gotten more confident with backgrounds so definitely another goal for 2k12. BRING IT. c: I guess this also explains why some periods I disappeared from deviantart. hehe ;;

2k11 was definitely a stressful, bittersweet, yet fun year. Lets make 2k12 even better c:.
